Acclaimed entertainer and best-selling author Steve Martin and wildly clever New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast team up to take kids of all ages on a weird, wonderful excursion through the alphabet! Here we meet Henrietta the hare, and Ollie the owl, who owed Owen an oboe. Hidden behind Bad Baby Bubbleducks, is a picture of a beatnik holding balloons; and the letter C finds clunky Clarissa adrift in a landscape cluttered with images ranging from a curiously comfortable clown to Chuck's Chili stand. This hilarious introduction to the alphabet for young children is a sheer delight from A to Z! You and your little one will laugh yourselves silly as you spot angelic apes, worrywart wizards, and rootie tootie robots on every page! (Ages 4-6)

My son and I loved this book! The story is a cute tongue twister (a little Dr.Seuss like) with weird pictures. I do agree with the other review about the font of the letters. My son (3 years) knows his whole alphabet and got confused on some of the letters. Overall we had fun reading it and would recommend it to others.
*** If a little weird is not your thing, the sleepy alphabet is another great book ***

I ordered this for my very brite 4 yr old daughter. We found it strange, with one of the items in the illistrations for "D" being a drunk. The use of miss-spelled words in the illitrations was troubling as well. What I had the most issue with though were the letters themselves. This book is all about letters and their use, but the font used is a fancy script that most children won't recognize!
Bottom line my daughter and I found it boring and not at all affective.
