After reading the review I was expecting more of a "Norman Rockwell" style of book. Instead I felt like I was reading something from a therapist's office. I was very disappointed.

I am very disappointed in this book. Maybe I just didn't read the description very well....but I ususally try to do my homework before I spend my hard earned money...as I am a single parent and don't have very much! It's a good book if you're looking for suggestions on how to make your Christmas less stressful and more family oriented. I thought it was about the other reason we celebrate the season (which of course is Jesus Christ!). Sadly, it's not. It gives you suggestions like sticking to your holdiday budget, baking cookies with you kids and family, driving around and look at Christmas displays. I already do those things and have for years. Being on a tight budget already, I have "made up" my own versions of spending time with my kids and family without spending money. I was under the impression that this was about Jesus, when He was born, why He came, etc.
Don't get me wrong....it's a beautiful little (and I do mean small) book, filled with beautiful pictures and wonderful suggestions, I just had the wrong impression about it and I guess I have a little "buyers remorse".
It does have a scripture reference at the end of the suggested activity and quotes from famous people (Wiliam Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Charles Haddon Spurgeon and a host of people I've never heard of). So, I guess if that's what you're looking for it will be perfect....or would be a great gift!
