From A Child Called “It” to The Lost Boy, from A Man Named Dave to Help Yourself, Dave Pelzer's inspirational books have helped countless others triumph over hardship and misfortune. Now he returns with the missing chapter of his story.
After years of abuse from his natural mother, Pelzer is a foster child wearing bargain-basement clothes when he enters his California junior high school. This is the story of Pelzer’s fighting off schoolyard bullies, but it is also a tale about discovering the true meaning of friendship and a tribute to Dan Brazell—a mentor with “the mighty arms” of a father—who changes his life forever.

I know what he went though.I went though some of the same things.I was put in foster care. I thought that nobody loved me or cared. Know I have three good kids they are 14,16,18 and doing good.

I found the book quite informative, I am a former foster parent and plan to be a foster parent in the future, I think this book will help foster parents understand why some children in their home may act the way they do, steal, lie, act out etc, from the horrible abuse they have endured in their young lives.

I was eager to read this book...It was very disappointing. His first book was so much better. Don't waste your time and money on this one. I read it in one evening but had to force myself to finish it. Was not a page turner at all.

Great book from Dave Pelzer. I admire Dave as being able to overcome the abuse he went through. I too am a survivor of child abuse, and Dave's spirituality is simply remarkable. I can't wait for the new book to come out soon!!!!!
