The action is hard, swift and deadly in 61 Hours—Lee Child’s devastatingly intense new Jack Reacher thriller—as our favorite ex-Army-MP-turned-drifter battles enemies seen and unseen in a frozen South Dakota town.
It begins when a savage snowstorm strands Reacher in Bolton, a small town that isn’t as peaceful as it seems. As he quickly discovers, Bolton is under siege from all sides: meth-dealing bikers have set up shop at the abandoned military base, inmates at the prison are threatening to riot and a stone-cold assassin is inbound with his own sinister agenda.
At the center of it all is Janet Salter, a courageous witness in a criminal case who knows that—if certain parties have their way—her testimony could spell her own death sentence.
Ever the nomad, Reacher briefly considers hitting the road, but he knows that the local cops are hopelessly outmatched, and that he’s Janet’s only hope. What he doesn’t know—yet—is that his adversaries are far stronger than he could guess…and their ultimate goals are much darker than he imagines. Now, the countdown has begun. With only 61 hours to work with, can Reacher take his enemies out before a storm of violence devastates the hapless town?

Like so many, I eagerly await a new Jack Reacher book. This one disappointed a little, but I wouldn't have missed it. Even at its most spotty, a Reacher novel is about the best choice around!

My first "Jack Reacher" book I have ever read. I enjoyed the bulkof the book, but the ending was the probably the poorest I have ever read.

Jack Reacher is "the man"! 61 hours is so good, so intense, and so shocking. There MUST be another book SOON to get me comfortably off the edge of this cliff. If you are new to the Jack Reacher series, do not read this EXCELLENT book until you have read all the others.
